<itunes:summary> I have known David Bedein for many years and have witnessed first hand his fight for honest reporting about Israel and the true intent of the Palestinian Authority and Hamas in undermining the Jewish State of Israel. This interview took place before the September attempt by Abbas to gain unilateral recognition from the UN. This is still a very timely interview.

Bedein’s Bio: David Bedein, celebrating 40 years in Israel, acts as a living witness to breaking events, working as the Bureau Chief of the Israel Resource News Agency, located in Jerusalem since 1987, and as the director of the Center for Near East Policy Research since 2005. Both agencies are located at the Beit Agron Press Center in Jerusalem. His weekly podcast, Behind the Scene airs live every Sunday from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Israel time on Israel National Radio.
From Wikipedia,
David Bedein (born August 31, 1950) is an MSW, a community organizer by profession, a writer, and an investigative journalist.[1] In 1987 he established the Israel Resource News Agency,[2] with offices at the Beit Agron Int’l Press Center in Jerusalem. He serves as Director of the Center for Near East Policy Research.
Mr. Bedein has also reported for news outlets such as CNN Radio, Makor Rishon, Philadelphia Inquirer, Jerusalem Post,[3] and the Jewish World Review.,.[4] For four years, Bedein was the Middle East correspondent for the Philadelphia Bulletin, writing 1,062 articles until the newspaper ceased operation in 2010.[5]
Focus
Bedein has covered controversial Middle East negotiations in Oslo, Ottawa, Shepherdstown, The Wye Plantation, Annapolis, Geneva, Nicosia, Washington, D.C., London, Bonn, and Vienna. Mr. Bedein is the author of Where Has All the Flour Gone? The Whims and Waste of UN Palestinian Refugee Policy.[6] The book documents Bedein’s years of investigative journalism focusing on the activities of UN agencies in Israel and the Middle East.[7] In particular, Bedein’s research has substantiated that UNRWA produces and manages educational programs and textbooks that reinforce the aims of radical Isalmic groups (such as HAMAS) long seeking to destroy the State of Israel. UNRWA denies these assertions.
Activism
Bedein was active in the Israeli peace movement for 17 years.[8]
In the 1980s, Bedein went to Ethiopia as part of a Canadian Jewish Congress delegation to investigate the impact of the famine on the Falasha Jewish community.[9]
Research & Media Presence
Mr. Bedein has overseen investigative studies of the Palestinian Authority, the Expulsion Process from Gush Katif and Samaria, The Peres Center for Peace, Peace Now, The International Center for Economic Cooperation of Yossi Beilin, the ISM, Adalah, the New Israel Fund, and United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).[10]
In November, 2010, Bedein began hosting a weekly radio program, Behind the Scene with David Bedein[11] providing listeners with unique insight into the daily news in Israel. Behind the Scene airs live every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Israel time on Israel National Radio.

Israel Resource News Agency has one purpose:to report Israel’s reality to the media by retaining the services of the best Israeli and Arab journalists to cover, research and investigate the events of the day.

<itunes:summary> Murray S. Greenfield is an American-born Israeli writer and publisher. He spent more than a decade researching his best-known book, The Jews’ Secret Fleet, about the participation of North American sailors in Aliyah Bet. We met in Tel Aviv at the AACI office and he spoke about the early days of the founding of the State.

He was himself just such a volunteer participant. The so called illegal vessels brought over 50% of the Holocaust survivors from the displaced persons camp to Palestine. The British gave up the British Mandate of Palestine and the United Nations voted for a Jewish State. In Israel, Greenfield began working in Haifa, seeking foreign investors to place capital in the
Palestinian Economic Corporation. In the early days of Israel’s existence, most philanthropists’ only thought of donating charity to poverty-stricken immigrants. Greenfield later settled in Tel Aviv with his newfound bride Hana Lustig. He was one of the founding members of the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel (AACI), where he later became executive director. Under his directorship, the AACI flourished; Greenfield pioneered and established loan funds, a mortgage company and a variety of housing projects in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Kibbutzim. He was always involved in public service, but the cause that he dedicated the most time to was rescuing Ethiopian Jewry; he was the volunteer director for seven years of the American Association for Ethiopian Jewry [AAEJ]. In the midst of his endeavors, Greenfield published a book with his wife titled, How to be an Oleh or Things the Jewish Agency Never Told You. He founded and contributed editorially to the first ever English language magazine titled FrontPage, and later a monthly magazine titled Rossvet, for Russian immigrants. Hana, a Holocaust survivor, has written the book Fragments of Memory, which is published in six languages. Together they founded the Czech Torah Network. In 1981, Greenfield established Gefen Publishing House, later taken over by his two sons Dror and Ilan. After Dror’s passing in 2003, Ilan continued to run the company. Today, Gefen publishes up to 35 titles a year and is the English language publisher in Israel. In 2008 a new documentary film directed by Alan Rosenthal was released entitled “Waves of Freedom”, which features Murray Greenfield. Alan Rosenthal was inspired to creating the documentary after reading the book by Murray Greenfield called “The Jews’ Secret Fleet”. The book has an introduction by Sir Martin Gilbert. Hana and Murray Greenfield have three children, Meira, Dror and Ilan and ten grandchildren, all of whom reside in Israel.

Refugees in Iceland. Many Palestinians living in Iraq were forced to flee to refugee camps after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. They still live in desperate conditions on the Iraq-Syrian border, unable to return to Baghdad or flee to neighbouring countries. Some, however, have found asylum elsewhere in countries far from home indeed, as far as Iceland.
